Uncharted Waters

When walking in faith, it’s not uncommon to drag your feet once in a while… For me, I’ve been doing it quite a lot :/ Ever since this semester started, my life has been one big blur. I’m trying my hardest to keep up with my classes, work a steady job, stay involved in church, and continue my walk with Christ, and I guess the hardest part is trying not to disappoint anyone…

One thing I continually beat into my head is that trusting the Lord is the key to succeeding in life, whether it is finances, relationships, work, or school. Reading His word will help you build faith and make it easier to trust him. For if you know the Word, then you know God hence, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1. I guess my purpose for writing this is to not only encourage those reading, but to also encourage myself. Sometimes it is hard to give God full control over our lives, we feel the need to make our own decisions and live out our own destinies. Shouldn’t we realize that the plans God has for us are so much better than any we can imagine?

And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible to you; take away this cup from me: but even so let not my will, but yours be done.” Mark 14:36

Sometimes we find ourselves in situations where we may not want to face what lies ahead, but only God knows the outcome of our lives, better to trust Him who knows than rely on our own understanding. In the previous scripture, Jesus is praying before he gets arrested and crucified. Jesus knew what lied ahead and prayed that God would even “take away this cup”, but before he finished he asked that not his will, but the Father’s be done. How hard must that have been? To know he was going to endure the most excruciating pain, be absolutely humiliated, and still trust God to carry out His divine will. Jesus may have been the Son of God, but he was “born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” Galatians 4-5. He lived an unblemished life with nothing more than what every man has ever had available to him.
Take notice, if life seems to be swallowing you up, maybe it is time for a change. Trust the Lord your God, and He will guide you down the straight and narrow path. You may not be able to tell where you are are going, but the one who is driving will:]

Love and Happiness to all,

Gary
