Very first post
Okay everyone, thank the great Matthew Ray for convincing me that only cool people have blogs… I’ve always wanted to be cool. So this is some breaking news here, you might want to pay attention. Apparently, the Futurama Movie and all its glory comes out Nov. 27… this is what I call EPIC. Back to reality, today has been rather relaxing and I’ve been loving it. I had a class get cancelled, so Brame and I went to hit up some RockBand at Best Buy for a good hour. I can’t see myself ever having the money to buy this excellent game, but a guy can dream right?
Last night I went to the New Hanover Juvenile Detention Center for an annual banquet they put on for the volunteers. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I’m glad I was able to be there as long as I was. The kids spent two weeks preparing songs and performances for everyone, and let me just say it was unbelievable. There was one young man I remember talking to a few weeks ago while visiting the Detention Center who was very interested in learning about Christ, but definitely had a skewed view of Christianity and faith as a whole. By the time I left the first meeting, this kid made a commitment to change his life around and start living for Christ. This touched me so much, just considering the background these kids come from and the hardships they face on a day to day basis. Needless to say, I saw him again last night and he led every single song they sang to the volunteers… I could just see the transformation and the love he had radiating off of his face. This young man, the same one who said one of his biggest dreams was to be “Ballin”, was confessing Jesus Christ as his savior and that he was going to start taking his life seriously. I swear I had tears forming in my eyes by the time I had to leave… no joke. Its an amazing feeling when you know God used you to make a difference in someones life. God has definitely given me a burning passion to minister to others, and every time I pick up His word he gives me new wisdom to grow in my relationship with Him. It is absolutely true that If you know the Word, then you know God because He is the Word and the Word is God. I encourage anyone who may be struggling in their walk with Christ or anyone who doesn’t know Christ at all to pick up the Bible and read it, you WILL see a difference. I have been a “Christian” my entire life, but it wasn’t until I picked up the Word and read it daily that I began to grow in Christ and see a difference in my life.
So do it

YAY!! Welcome to the world of Blog my friend! You have officially joined the ranks of the cool. Loved your first post.
